Privacy Policy
Effective October 13, 2026
impruvio is a habit tracker. This policy explains what data the app uses, why, and the choices you have. In short: your habits are yours, nothing is sold, and statistics and ads only use what you agree to.
Who is responsible
impruvio is made by Lukáš Olbrecht, a sole trader in the Czech Republic, who is the controller of your personal data. Contact: impruvio.app@gmail.com.
What stays on your phone
Your habits, check-ins, logs, settings and profile picture are stored on your phone. Until you sign in, only an anonymous account ID and the progress summary your friends can see go online (see below); your habits themselves are backed up only once you sign in.
- Screen time (iPhone): the apps you choose are picked with Apple's Screen Time and stay on your device; impruvio never learns which apps they are. Only minutes used per day are counted, on your phone.
- Screen time (Android): with Usage access, the app reads how long the apps you chose were used, on your phone.
- Reminders are scheduled on your phone; no server is involved.
- Motion sensors are only used for a visual tilt effect and are never stored or sent.
What is stored online, and why
impruvio uses Google Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd.) to run accounts, sync and friends.
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| An account ID (an anonymous account is created automatically; with sign-in also your email address and name from Apple, Google or email sign-in) | Your account, sign-in and keeping your data apart from others' |
| A backup of your habits and settings (when signed in) | Restoring and syncing your habits between your devices |
| Your display name, profile picture, level, and for each habit you share: its name, emoji, streaks, rank and weekly progress; your friend code and friend requests | The friends feature. Only friends you add can see it. Hide any habit from friends in its settings; slips are only shared if you turn that on. |
The legal basis is providing the app you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Anonymous statistics and crash reports (only with your yes)
The app asks once whether you want to share anonymous usage statistics. Only if you agree, Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics receive which features are used (for example "habit created", "check-in", pages opened), your plan (free or Plus), the number of habits, your theme, crash reports, an app installation ID, and basic device information. Never habit names, notes or your account details. Change your mind anytime in Settings → Share anonymous statistics. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Ads
impruvio only shows an ad when you choose to watch one for free Plus time. Ads come from Google AdMob (Google Ireland Ltd.), which may use a device identifier, your approximate location (from your IP address), and how you interact with the ad, to show and measure ads. In the EU and UK, Google's consent form asks for your choices first, and you can change them later. On iPhone, impruvio does not ask to track you and does not give AdMob your advertising identifier. See how Google uses data for ads.
Purchases
impruvio Plus is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle payment; impruvio only learns whether you have Plus, never your payment details.
Who else receives data
Only the service providers named above (Google Firebase, Google AdMob, and Apple or Google for purchases). Their servers may be outside the EU, including the United States; transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Your data is never sold.
How long data is kept
Online data is kept while you have an account and deleted when you delete it. Statistics are kept by Google Analytics for up to 14 months; crash reports for up to 90 days.
Deleting your data
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes your account, backup, profile, friend code and friendships online, and the data on this phone. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone. You can also email us to have your data deleted.
Your rights
You may ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to impruvio.app@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Czech data protection authority, the Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (uoou.gov.cz), or the authority where you live.
Children
impruvio is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date. Important changes are also announced in the app.
